22 weeks!

Well, as predicted, I've been horrible about blogging this pregnancy. Eh, whatever! So far everything has been just great though. But there are some updates, so I guess I'll get to it.

February 15th we had our 2nd trimester US and it was confirmed that we are having a BOY! Bobby is, as all men are, completely thrilled with the idea of having a son he can play sports with, watch sports with, talk about sports with...you get the idea. I am actually getting used to the idea of having a boy, and am also very excited. What a change it will be from Brielle. We still do not have a name decided on, but we are working on it and hope to have it nailed down soon! Our favs so far are Jackson (maybe spelled Jaxon so it's different and he could be nicknamed 'Jax' instead of Jack), Hayden, or Cole (which I'm not in love with but everyone else seems to be).

I've been feeling him move for a couple weeks now, and it's so fun! The kicks and rolls in the upper part of my tummy are cute. The kicks lower...not so much. Loves to bounce on the bladder. Special. Bobby has even gottent to feel him move around. He layed his head on my belly the other morning after I got home from work, and the baby kicked him right in the cheek hard...well has hard as something weighing less than a pound can kick :) Seems like he is really enjoying my pregnancy and is having all of the typical emotions. Baby must know I'm writing about him, cuz he's moving around right now!

February 25th we moved out of my childhood home of 30 years. Tried to do a short-sale and were unsuccessful. The bank was completely on board and then out of nowhere asked me to sign a promisary note for $28000...negative ghostrider. So, foreclosure it will have to be. We moved out to Gilbert and are renting a 2100 sq foot house near the 202 and Ray. It's 2-story, which is a pain in the ass for my pregnancy, but we like it and are finally getting settled in. It's 12 miles farther from work and with gas prices on the rise, it's proving to be an expensive decision. But it's $350 cheaper than my mortgage and Bobby is getting a lot more hours at work and is even toying with starting a window washing business in his parents' retirement community to give us extra cash. I thnk we'll be ok.

On that note, the thought of all these baby expenses is really weighing on my mind. I'm really trying to pick up as many extra shifts as is safe for me and the baby to handle! But, I do get exhausted a lot quicker than in my non-pregnant state and find that I just can't handle the go-go-go like I used to. With that being said, I am orienting to team leading at work in the next couple weeks. Yeah, not going to make work any easier...but it's a challenge I have been avoiding for about 3 years now and have decided that it's time to face my fear and just do it. Bobby thinks that I am an ideal candidate for the TL position because of my love of being 'in control'. Eh...we'll see. Trying not to think of it as 'controlling' as much as 'guiding'.

Ah yes, and more news. My brother's girlfriend, Brandi, is expecting as well. This was a total shocker for everyone involved. They had only been dating a couple months, but I guess they've known eachother for a while since she dated one of Greg's friends prior to them hooking up. She is due in early October. I will have to admit that I am pretty excited about becoming an aunt. Just didn't think it would be like this! Hopefully everything works out for them, and if not, it's a peaceful situation and we can still be involved in the baby's life. More updates to come...

As soon as I can find my camera/computer transfer cable I will post some belly shots and US pics of the baby.

Back it up…Christmas 2010

052

Have to learn how to post pictures on here, so we’ll use this Christmas post for that purpose.

I welcomed Christmas this year much like I have in years past…at work.  OMG, it was so slow!  I had the only patient and she wasn’t even on the monitor.  Of course it did pick up slightly over the course of the evening, but really we had a max of 8 patients the whole night, blah.

I came home Christmas morning, think I slept for about 30 seconds, and then we went to my parents house for food, presents, and football!  Oh, and family too.  Here are some pics of Brielle and the fam enjoying gift exchange:

And there we go…how’d I do?

15 weeks!

Well, I really thought I was going to be better at this blogging thing, but I suppose that was just wishful thinking.  Actually, it’s really amazing that I’m doing it at all.  I’m going to try blogging at home with Windows Live Writer.  Hoping that will help me be able to upload pictures and such.  This will be my trial-post.

So we’ve made it to 15 weeks already!  I guess time does fly when you stop counting the days.  Feels like it took forever to get out of the first trimester, but now it’s done and I’m beginning my second.  I would post some belly pics here, but truth is I’m really not showing yet.  Cannot wait for my little bump…that will turn into a huge bump.  I have gained about 8lbs so far (mostly in my butt).  I definitely am super uncomfortable wearing any of my jeans.  I cannot zip or button them and require the assistance of a belly band to keep them on!  These really are the greatest things ever.  I am all about maternity jeans, but wanted to try to wear my clothes as long as possible this time to avoid the expense.  Yeah, well I think I’m done with that.  I’m to the point wear I need to start wearing maternity tops too because my tops aren’t long enough and look kinda weird with half a belly band hanging out.

I suppose the most exciting news of all is that at our first official ultrasound a couple of weeks ago, the sonographer said she’s “very confident” that it’s a BOY!  Bobby was thrilled, of course, as was the rest of the family.  We will have our 2nd trimester ultrasound Feb. 15th, so we will know for sure then!  All of baby’s parts look normal and are growing appropriately right now.  They did the nuchal translucency and that was completely normal, along with my blood work.  This just reduces the risk of multiple trisomy chromosomal abnormalities.  Looks like our kiddo is healthy!  Mom on the other hand…

I caught the flu this week.  Blah.  Of course I haven’t had the flu for YEARS, but get it when I’m pregnant.  awesome.  Awesome when you can’t even take all the good drugs to make you feel better.  Ummm….you can have Tylenol and plain Sudafed.  thanks.for.nothing.  And of course it came on my days off of work, so I waste all of my time away from work.  whatev.  It started with fever, chills, muscle aches, headache and sore throat and has progressed to just a bunch of sinus congestion and feeling like I want to rip my face off.  Probably going to call off for work tonight, don’t want to infect anyone if I’m still contagious.  And truthfully, I still don’t feel 100%.

Let’s see, can’t really think of anything else exciting.  Maybe I will try to post something about Christmas and include a pic…whoa.
